Online Education Courses – Not For The Faint of Heart
In the not-so-distant past, online education courses were considered a little unusual. Many internet education courses were not accredited or recognized and in fact, most were downright laughed down. Most employers didn’t consider the online aspect of education to be a valid means of delivery education and disregarded prospective employees with a history of online education. Fortunately, that has changed and a new education movement has begun online. From basic internet education courses to earning complete degrees, there is no limit to accredited online education today.
Taking internet education courses can aid in a career that is already in full swing as well as for those new to the education system. It isn’t a one size fits all solution as every individual’s needs can be catered to and eventually met with this innovative system. The demands in any profession call for upgrading. There is no better method to achieve that then taking online education courses. They can be taken from the comforts of home at the time that can be met by demanding schedules.

The College Scholarship Penalty – Don’t Get Bitten
The scholarship penalty is a little known college policy which reduces money available to college students due to scholarship monies they receive. Scholarships are looked at as a common solution to the college funding problem. Scholarships from organizations such as the DAR, Rotary, Wal-Mart, a local church, the Gates Foundation, or other similar organizations make up only 2% to 3% of the money that is available to help send students to college; but from they attention they receive, you would think the amount available would be much higher. But there is a greater problem with external college scholarships.
External college scholarships are those scholarships which a student acquires by applying to an organization other than the college or university the student attends. Internal scholarships (or merit awards) are those funds awarded directly to a student, typically for academic achievement. Internal scholarships are always good and should be pursued at all times. External scholarships have a penalty which is rarely discussed. The standard policy of colleges and universities across the United States is to reduce the financial award the school would otherwise give you by the amount of money in outside scholarships the student receives.

An academic scholarship (also known as a merit scholarship) is awarded to someone who has shown excellence in a particular subject, course or field of study. Often they are awarded to graduating high school students, in preparation for their college years but even mature age college students can be eligible.
Where to get Academic Scholarships
Many businesses and foundations will hand out high paying scholarships to bright students who are undertaking study in a particular field of study. There are many such scholarships in the industries of business, science, engineering and mathematics. Some scholarships do not focus on particular industries whilst others are quite specific.
